Meet the team

Reporting to the partner Head of Debt & Asset Recovery, we are looking for a Client Account Manager to join our friendly, busy Debt & Asset Recovery team who will manage the delivery of our client financial processes and provide guidance and support to the managers and team leaders across the Debt & Asset Recovery team.

This is an important role within the growing Debt & Asset Recovery business and interacts closely with the Debt & Asset Recovery senior leadership team, external clients and across the wider LS&DR Business Unit and the firm. In particular with Business operations and the central Finance Operations team. The role will be primarily based in either our Birmingham or Stratford-upon-Avon hub, with travel to other offices as and when required.

The opportunity

Key duties:

  • management of the finance elements of the Debt & asset Recovery team’s contracts ensuring that client contractual financial processing transactions are processed accurately and on a timely basis in accordance with client SLAs, internal processes and policies and adhere to SRA Accounts rules as appropriate.
  • line management responsibility for the Debt & Asset Recovery processing team which includes the Debt & Asset Recovery Administrator and the Debt & Asset AP Administrator.
  • to be the main point of contact for the firm’s central finance team should any issues arise or require clarifying.
  • conducting monthly client service reviews in-line with contractual terms and SLAs for each client.
  • reviewing current processes and suggesting improvements in order that they are designed and performed as efficiently as possible
  • reviewing processes and educating all stakeholders to ensure the Debt & Asset Recovery team act within the SRA Accounts rules in the way it deals with financial transactions.
  • ensuring processes allow for the best possible client experience in terms of their financial interactions with the Debt and Asset Recovery team and the firm
  • working with the Debt and Asset Recovery team to deliver a first class and joined-up overall client service
  • working with relevant technical and project resources in the business to aid problem solving and performance improvement
  • ad hoc duties as required by the Head of Debt & Asset Recovery

Key skills and experience you will have:

  • demonstrable experience in a similar role essential, legal or professional services sector experience preferred
  • excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport, credibility and impact quickly with senior stakeholders
  • desire and ambition to grow as a professional in the role as the firm grows 
  • the ability to work across a number of IT platforms; Intermediate-level Excel skills at a minimum is essential

  • a commercially aware self-starter, pro-active with the ability to work in a team and comfortable working at all levels
  • a strong attention to detail with high levels of accuracy
  • able to prioritise and work to deadlines
  • to be flexible and have the ability to operate in a changing environment

We have hubs in Birmingham, Leicester, London, Milton Keynes, Nottingham, Solihull, Stratford-upon-Avon and Sheffield. This role will have a blend of homeworking with travel as required to our Birmingham or Stratford-upon-Avon hub.
