The opportunity

The Member Services (Partnership) team is a dedicated team who work with our Members in relation to all aspects of their journey through Membership. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a specialised role supporting the owners of our business. This key role will focus on all the financial aspects of the membership function.

Role Priorities

Generally:

  • All aspects of member financials including capital, drawings, tax, profit share and distributions
  • Supporting the member tax return process
  • Supporting the member remuneration process
  • Working with the finance team re balance sheet reconciliations

Specifically:

  • Month end balance sheet recs re members tax/drawings/capital
  • Accruals & Prepayments re member benefits
  • Interest on capital calculations
  • Drawings process and analysis
  • Intercompany recharges and reconciliations
  • Member distributions
  • Month end reports – CP fees and bill allocations
  • Journals
  • PSA
  • Liaising with external providers, KPMG, Cooper Parry & various tax accountants
  • HMRC submissions re tax payments

Knowledge and Experience

Essential:

  • a minimum of 12 months finance experience
  • strong numerical skills and accuracy with intermediate or above excel skills
  • the ability to ensure confidentiality at all times due to the sensitive nature of the work
  • the ability to cope with a high volume workload and work well under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • to be organised, with the ability to prioritise your workload
  • excellent communication skills to deal with internal clients at all levels

Desirable:

  • an understanding of HR, ideally gained from within a legal or professional services environment
  • experience of self-employed tax
  • a good level of MS Word skills would be beneficial

Qualification requirements:

  • AAT or ATT preferable but relevant QBE also welcome
