The opportunity

This role is part of the maturing of our IT Organisation, adding specialisation and technical knowledge into the Applications and Development team to help us support our IT project portfolio and current technologies.

We have a blended work to your diary approach where we flex where, when and how we work, with attendance at our hub spaces 1 or 2 times a month – as team meetings and client need requires.

Role Purpose

  • Developing and supporting new and existing bespoke applications and integrations across the organisation’s application architecture within our Agile Delivery Processes.
  • Proposing and implementing solutions to business requirements that align with our product roadmap and architecture. 
  • Supporting Change and Release Management processes as part of the software development lifecycle.
  • Working as part of a team to transform the Application Architecture of the organisation and formalise best practice standards and methodologies.

Role Priorities

  • Becoming familiar with the applications, integrated solutions, backlogs and current roadmaps as well as the supported business processes. 
  • Participate in Agile Ceremonies.
  • Begin to undertake testing tasks, progressing to basic modifications and creations of features and then on to more complex developments. 

Key Accountabilities

  • As an experienced developer you will work on projects across predominantly Microsoft C# .Net MVC, SQL Server technologies and Web API’s.
  • Assisting with design phases on Business IT programmes, validating requirements and ensuring that all aspects of UX, data and solution design are within scope, complete, and deliverable.
  • Handover from development and pilot into supported production, ensuring that appropriate documentation and support models are in place.
  • Being a champion for innovation, analysing new technology solutions that could bring significant benefit to the business.

Skills and experience

A minimum of 3 years demonstrable track record of successful delivery of complex technical applications and services

You will need to have previous experience with the below tech stack: 

  • C#, .Net  & ASP.Net
  • Javascript
  • MS SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, T-SQL, Azure SQL Server, SQL managed instances, Azure Database Migration Services
  • Azure DevOps
  • Source Control
  • Experience of Microsoft architectural blueprints and transitioning on premise application to the cloud
  • Azure Cloud development, NServiceBus, CQRS and Domain-driven design, Scrum/Agile, API Design and management skills
  • Data Engineering projects using Data Lakes, Data factories, ETL techniques, Synapse and PowerBI
  • HTML, CSS
  • Entity Framework

Experience with the following would be beneficial:

  • Devops Automated Testing
  • MS Logic and Power Apps
  • AI + Machine Learning
  • Analytics: Analysis Services, Data Lake Analytics, Data Catalog
  • DevOps: Application Insights
  • TypeScript, NodeJs
