This is a role in the Financial Reporting & Accounting (‘FR&A’) team reporting to the Financial Controller with the principal objective of supporting the Financial Controller to deliver robust, timely, accurate management and financial information, improve ledger integrity and accounting control with specific responsibility for own tasks and deliverables.

Key duties include:

  • Preparation and posting of month end journals & provisions to ensure accurate and timely delivery of the monthly management accounts. This will include supporting with the relevant analysis, schedules, variance analysis and commentary on key movements
  • Maintain the fixed asset registers in line with group accounting policies & procedures to include additions, disposals, project categorisation and depreciation postings.
  • Preparation of the control account reconciliations assigned to the management accountant to ensure we are operating with strong financial controls. This will include highlighting any potential issues identified and raising as necessary with the Financial Controller/Group Financial Controller.
  • Preparation of the monthly intercompany reconciliations ensuring the group intercompany balances agree between all entities. This will include processing any intercompany recharges required.
  • Responsible for GL integrity and driving brand allocations.
  • Responsible for the monthly bank loan reconciliations.
  • Preparation of the monthly IT & consultant spend analysis to highlight any unusual costs or potential areas of overspend. Support the CM with any queries associated with this analysis.
  • Preparation of the ONS reports.
  • Reconciliation of month end finance reports back to Aderant/TM1 balances to highlight any variances or concerns in the reports to strengthen our financial controls.. Highlight and work with the Finance Systems Team to resolve any issues identified.
  • Supporting the Financial Controller and Group Financial Controller in the annual audit process. Preparing backing audit schedules and analysis as required.
  • To provide additional ad hoc financial reporting support as required by the Financial Controller and Group Financial Controller to meet the needs of the business

Skills and experience you will have:

  • Finalist in one of the following qualifications (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
  • Experience in a similar role, legal or professional services sector experience preferred
  • Desire and ambition to grow as a professional in the role as the firm grows
  • The ability to work across a number of IT platforms; Intermediate-level Excel skills
