Meet the team

Our specialist Tax division offers full and integrated tax advice on all aspects of tax to companies, businesses, trusts and individuals and the transactions they enter into.

The division is led by both Julia Rosenbloom and Huw Witty.  Julia provides bespoke tax advice to a wide range of clients, including businesses and their stakeholders, real estate owners, trustees in both the UK and offshore, and high net worth individuals. Advising clients that are both UK and internationally based.  Huw specialises on advising on the tax aspects of corporate finance, venture capital, property finance, property and capital market transactions and funds, and international private wealth. 

Collectively they have a wide variety of direct clients who they service, whilst collaborating with the firms legal teams supporting, offering advice and generating additional business via internal referrals.  Our team has the rare ability to offer comprehensive tax advice and legal services for implementation.

The opportunity

As part of this dynamic team we are seeking an individual who is keen to embrace the opportunity and join the team at this exciting part of the journey.    You will be energised by identifying new business opportunities as well as continued relationships with your established client base, working on a variety of projects that provide challenging and exciting opportunities.

You will be responsible for providing comprehensive tax advice, and developing tax strategies for a wide range of domestic and international clients, whilst working alongside and supporting both Julia and Huw in more complex matters, with the majority of time supporting Julia who is based in the West Midlands.

Key responsibilities will consist of:

  • Advising clients on a range of tax issues, covering a broad range of advisory projects
  • Be actively involved in client meetings, concisely and confidently answering client queries or supporting the partners where appropriate.
  • Collaborating with other departments to ensure clients are benefitting from all business services.
  • Identifying opportunities to introduce and cross-sell the firm’s services to new and existing clients.

Skills and experience

The minimum criteria you’ll need is a professional qualification (CTA/ACA/ACCA or equivalent) with post qualification experience of a minimum of four years, and to be confident managing a portfolio of entrepreneurial business and private clients.

Previous skills and experience for the role:

  • to possess strong knowledge of UK tax legislation
  • worked in a professional services environment 
  • an eagerness to develop deep knowledge of the firm’s services and capabilities

How we work

We embrace agile working and offer a blended approach to where and how we work. 

This role is being offered as a “hybrid” working opportunity and due to the nature of the role this will consist of both working from home and from our Birmingham hub, ideally attending a minimum of once a week.  There may also be the requirement to travel to offices further afield on an ad-hoc basis.

We have hubs in Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh, Leicester, London, Lincoln, Milton Keynes, Nottingham, Solihull, Stratford-upon-Avon and Sheffield.
